After having a few tents, I decided the camping lark was pretty good, so got my hearts desire - an Outwell Bear Lake. After 12 months of this I then decided my hearts desire had changed (you may notice from this website it changes frequently), I started researching the bells and realised that one pole had to be a lot easier than the humungous frame of the Bear Lake 6, so a few well chosen hints to the other half at Christmas (like 'Give me your bank card and I will order my present...') and the purchase of the first bell was done
The first of many..
I went for the 5m ZIG option (the most expensive obviously...) as it gives the option of being totally sealed, but removable for cleaning and in the warmer weather allowed the sides to be rolled up.
I had to wait 5 long months to pitch it and in April 2010 I had the first pitch of a bell at a local campsite
My first ever glamp in a bell
I was fairly subdued on the tent buying front for a while then, and the 5m got various makeovers, all over the place. Pillaton was a favourite over the summer
Cannock Chase was great for walking the dogs
Longthornes in Dorset in March 2011, surprisingly decent weather!
The cooking over a fire pit has now taken off, so the majority of sites I visit now allow camp fires
and my beloved petromax hurricane lamp gets a look in here
A day out at Lulworth Cove
Hayles in Worcestershire the following month.
Trying out the new inner as it was still cold in the season
No the inner doesn't come in red....nightmare job dying it on another stupid whim..
With the malu tarp from obelink
Couple of videos from Pillaton with the 5m
Take 1
Click here for take 1 it went a bit wrong...
